Hello Everyone :) My name is Elis Martinez-Kranz, although I mainly just go by E. This is my final semester at UB and I am very excited to be done, although a little nervous as well since I cannot remember a time when I have NOT been in school. I currently work part-time as a Programming Aide and a Library Assistant at separate libraries. I hope to work full-time as a Teen or Children’s Librarian, but am not opposed to Adult services either. I received my BA in English Education at Nazareth University and my MSEd from Suny Brockport. I enjoy spending time with my dogs and crafting. I have made it my goal this year to try and create more outside of work (my job is very craft-focused). I also have had a very intense hyperfixation on the anime One Piece and the procedural drama 9-1-1, so I am usually rewatching episodes during my downtime. I am also a big fan of the dropout series Dimension 20 and love to have that playing while I am at work / doing menial tasks. I look forward to working with you all! -E

Hello Everyone! For Week 10’s Technology Resource, I have decided to focus on Padlet. What Is Padlet? Padlet is a website and app that allows students to create virtual boards where they can curate information. Boards are able to be shared either through links or through QR codes. Hello Everyone! For Week 8’s Technology Resource, I have decided to focus on Copyright and Creativity. What Is C and C? The Creativity and Copyright Project (C and C) is a nonprofit organization developed by the Internet Keep Safe Coalition (iKeepSafe) to help promote online safety. C and C offers curricula for students from K-12. The material created by Cand C aims to provide accessible and practical information about copyright, both protections and limitations, and its role in encouraging creativity. The end goal is to showcase how students can navigate and rely on copyright in their roles as creators rather than focusing on what it prohibits. Key Features of C and C: C and C offers lesson plans for K-12 students. These lesson plans include discussion questions, escape rooms, presentation supplies, activity breakdowns, quizzes, and video materials. Hello Everyone! For Week 9’s Technology Resource, I have decided to focus on ClassHook. What Is ClassHook? ClassHook is a video clip curation site. This site allows teachers to search for content from popular TV shows and movies to support instruction. Depending on the plan type, users can browse, save, and assign activities based on video clips. Videos can be filtered through certain criterias such as grade level (kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, high school, and college), topic, genre, vocabulary, use of profanity, standards, and length (all clips are less than 10 minutes).
